Block Zones is a map based around potion effects with parkour and exploration.
Whether this be a blocks infused with them (from the Block Effects mod, not bundled with the map, please download it here https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/block-effects-mod before using the map, this applies to the 1.8 version, I might consider a mudpack version with the mod bundled so you don't have to worry about having a Forge 1.8 instance setup with the mod just to play) or Beacons giving you these abilities (this is for the 1.14.4 version including the Bigger Beacon Radius datapack bundled with the map, this datapack isn't needed but for some areas and to avoid using potions so potion effects are given naturally like the map was intended it's best to use it).
For the modpack version (Block Effects bundled rather than just getting the map and needing to have Forge 1.8 setup already, but with the modpack it's setup for you, you can get this version here: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/block-zones-test-world-modpack)
The map has a few optional things besides just parkour and fighting mobs. There is Secrets in each level (not in the Under Realm levels) such as Diamonds that can be used for score but are intended to be used for repairing secret armour pieces, there is also potion chests and enchantments to use to make the map easier or the boss/mobs less of a hassle. An Upgrade Station can be used to repair or enchant your armour/free diamond sword. There is guide books to tell you how many secrets are in each level so you can use it if you are unsure how many and don't want to go back to the start of the level to find out.
Secrets Purposes:
-Diamonds (Score and repair of armour/free sword at upgrade station)
-Armour Pieces (diamond armour used for combat encounters and to protect you from the boss in the UnderRealm, can be upgrade with Enchantments and repaired with Diamonds)
-Enchanted Books (used for adding benefits to your armour or free diamond sword, they can help in combat or level navigation depending on the enchantments applied)
-Potion Chests (potion loot you can use whenever and not relying on the Block Effects blocks to grant it for you)
The level themes and structures is like this:
0.Elemental Caves HUB
1.Prismarine Monument (Jump level) [based around water/swimming and parkour, with Guardians at the end]
2.Sky Islands (Invisibility level) [based around not getting seen so you don't fall off the level]
3.Deserted Remains (Strength level) [based around combat with skeletons, zombies and blaze, a puzzle at the end]
4.Ice-celerated Caverns (Speed level) [based around parkour and basing the speed effect on platforms]
5.Cavernous Swamp (Poison level) [based around going under and over trees to avoiding poison in the dark location, even though mobs have spawned every where but can't be helped with mob spawns, eh XD]
6.Dark Oak Forest (Night Vision level) [based around exploring or using Night Vision to get around and ignore the darkness]
7.Under Realm HUB (a location housing the UnderRealm Boss door as well as parkour for the Eye of Agility)
8.Hallucination Tunnel (just random parkour, puzzle obstacles, potion effect zones/blocks and random blocks to fit I guess a kaleidoscope or an unbalanced region, contains the Eye of Exploration).
9.Boss (either fight it or ignore it and getting to the exit).
