This first map covering London before the Great Fire, features notable landmarks such as London Bridge, the old St Paul’s Cathedral, and the infamous Pudding Lane.
An audio treasure hunt of fire facts voiced by Wizard Keen and Stampy will give players the chance to explore the streets, introducing them to the factors that played a crucial role in the events that unfolded, including the long dry summer, wooden houses, narrow streets, and the ways in which people lived. Collect all 12 records to get a sneak peek at what is coming in the second map.
Find the tattered maps to help show you the way around the city and find paintings and history books around the city to discover what London was like 350 years ago.
Inspired by the Museum of London’s rich collections, the Great Fire 1666 maps will allow players to explore the City of London and experience the story of the fire like never before. Uncover the causes of this terrible event, help fight the fire and eventually try your hand at rebuilding London. Each map will include challenges that help players delve deeper into the story and experience what it was like to be part of the Great Fire.
This project is a collaboration between the Museum of London, digital producer Adam Clarke, professional mapbuilders Blockworks and game designer Dragnoz.
