DISCLAIMER: There will not be a full version or any major updates. This is only meant to be an archive for one of my oldest maps. I am working on a mod version of this map that will add the dungeon as a dimension for survival mode.

Mod Version (when available): https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/roguedungeon

Description

Collect powerful gear and take the one-way ticket to the rogue dungeon. Once you enter, the only way out is death. Don't run away too quickly, however, because while you will lose all your powerful weapons and gear you will have a chance of unlocking powerful spells that you will never lose, even at death. You start at level one, the easiest area of the dungeon, where you will find many of the most common monsters both in the overworld and the dungeon, but you may also find some more challenging foes. Fight through them to find the many spells hidden deep within.

How to Play

Starting a Game
  • When you start the game by pressing the button under "Play" do NOT read the book, if you do please ignore the inclusion of the word beginning with 'S'.
  • Harsher Deaths (thief): Pretty much causes all of a random item type (food, weapons, etc.) to disappear in your chest on death. Not important, I suggest keeping it on for a slightly greater challenge.
  • Natural Regen: Pretty much disables the player from healing naturally (from eating food). I suggest keeping this off.
  • Keep Inventory: Keeps the player's items on death, not suggested.
Gameplay Loop
  • The Village: It's very incomplete and the only purpose it serves is buying food from the market and buying weapons and gear from the guy behind the trees.
  • The Dungeons: First off, in the current version there aren't multiple levels with varying difficulty, instead the game slightly increases in difficulty every time you go through a dungeon area.
  • Deadly Sight: If you are in the dungeon for longer than one minute straight without killing a monster you will become blind.
  • Return Becomes: A spiral of bedrock can be found in the dungeon, if you stand on top of it you will be returned home at the cost of all your XP
Using Spells
  • You can find structures made of cobblestone with a pressure plate in the center, if you have over 15 XP Points you can step on the plate and unlock a spell.
  • If you die you can find your spells in the left large chest in your house's back room.
  • You can also read about the spells you unlock at the lectern.
  • To activate a spell you must crouch while holding the spell in your offhand, if you don't have enough XP you will be damaged.
