ForceFeedback Mod is a mod designed to modify the standard Liberty Play by adding mechanics and tweeks without introducing new units or abilities. Design objective is to make the game more visceral for low level play by giving the player more to respond to in a given battle.
Mod is still under Alpha development.
Shield Mechanics:
- Protoss Shields absorb all damage from a single source before going out. Giving a feeling of having a shield that protects the user and giving protoss the awareness of how to make the most of their shields.
- Protoss Shields protect against Acid and Heat Counters.
- Resistance does not effect shields- protoss units with resistance will not gain these benefits until after their shields expire.
Resistance Mechanics:
- Vehicles, Structures, Roaches and Ultralisks take 1/3 of the initial damage from acid or heat base attacks, they still take full damage from heat and acid stacks which ignore armor.
Heat Mechanics:
- Colossus and Nukes add heat counters. Heat counters expire after 2.8 seconds. Heat counters are refreshed and maintained when they are reapplied before they expire but can only stack 12 times. Each counter deals 2 damage every half second that ignores armor.
Acid Mechanics:
- Banelings and Roaches apply Acid counters. Acid counters can stack 14 times but Acid counters do not refresh when reapplied. They deal 3 damage every half second for 2.8 seconds. This damage ignores armor.
Infestor Fungle Growth:
- Infestor Fungle growth reduces movement speed but stacks up to three times dealing additional damage and reducing mobility to a snare upon 3 stacks. All stacks take effect for 3 seconds but last 8 seconds, giving visibility of cloaked units and continuing to increase the effectiveness of additional stacks for the 8 second duration.
Massive Air Units
- Massive Air units, including carriers, floating terran buildings, Motherships and Battlecruisers crash to the ground dealing a small amount of aoe damage and pushing units away from the epicenter.
Additional Ghost Nuke Tweeks
- Ghost Nuke now takes 8 seconds to launch instead of 12.
- Nukes now apply heat counters like the colossus and have several shockwaves dealing damage to mitigate protoss shields.(Animation is slower to accommodate the shock-waves and for a better feel of a devastating weapon being used)
Chronoboost and Warping
- Warp Gates now take longer to warp units and have a larger cooldown.
- Chrono Boost now increases the rate of warping.
