MEGA-FIGHTER!

EARLY ACCESS VERSION

A QUICK WORD

This is just a quick project page, to be updated later. A quick rundown, this is one of my 3D projects, utilising some mathematics in order to create a true 3D Starfighter simulator, with a Z axis and everything - in the vein of Freespace, Freelancer, Rogue Squadron and even Lylat Wars and all that good stuff. Control scheme is relatively pretty simple at the moment, though, it may be updated for this version or a later one.

Largely a kind of goofy project I always wanted to do seriously, it features a story, and a Starfighter against the universe! Music, baddies, big lasers, epic show-downs - it'll have villains and bosses, and all sorts I haven't decided yet. Customisable ships, weapons, featuring advanced UI and navigation that you might expect from a Starfighter game.

I created this project based on my initial "Starfighter 3D" project, but built I think entirely from scratch (at least close enough to it, since I think I was following a previous rule) for the MAPORINO competition hosted by "Jayborino" (which I think is still waiting on the final judgment? To be updated later.)

It was pretty difficult maths but a lot of fun, and there was a lot of experimentation, especially visually, which I enjoyed a lot, since I'm still trying to marry both parts of my brain together for universal peace.

There will be much more to see in the future, but I wanted to put out a pretty good teaser show-case of how it'll look.

In any case, you see my small sneak peek video here, from while I was working on it:

MAPORINO!

And you can see Jayborino's play-through of the Maporino submission here (it's been updated since then), which was a lot of fun. He's a good if tough reviewer, and it makes me laugh. He wants me to question my existence at all times. Make sure I really want to be here. (And I do, thank you. D:<)

But my fellow map-makers are incredibly skilled and I am not offended. I'm learning and I like to try and follow my sense of creativity.

You should also check out everyone else's projects they submitted, they're amazing.

CURRENT STATUS:

I am going to jump back into this project to figure out one single very trying bug (don't know when - probably after I'm sure about what I want to try), and then that'll pave the way for a complete Starfighter campaign, or first act or so, and that'll be amazing for me.

However, the current project, as it stands, is absolutely available on Battle.Net right now as a Demo, and you can go try it out if you're interested.

BATTLE.NET

The current version available is the Maporino! Demo Version (which I update).
