RTC 2017 Mercenary Business

RTC 2017 Mercenart Business is one of the top ten finalist of 2017 Rock The Cabinet (RTC) contest.

Since the contest is long over at the time of writing this description, I've decided to put my own map, Mercenary Business, here for everyone to use.

The idea behind this is just to give someone who has never made a co-op map before a template/example of a fully working map as recognized by Blizzard itself.

I strongly advise against playing the map via Editor. If you want to play it just go in the arcade and search for it (it is published and always will be). If you want to change something and test it, publish your own map as private (with another name of course).

License

A note on the license, just keep in mind that if you make your own map just following the template you can feel free to do whatever you want, so long that you are not publishing my work as yours.

Download

To download the map file, click on the Files in the up left corner, after Overview. You can also just click on the download button on this page.

How to Install

To install the map follow this steps:

  1. Download RTC 2017 Mercenary Business file (RTC2017MercenaryBusiness.zip file)
  2. Extract RTC2017MercenaryBusiness.zip in your Starcraft2.exe folder
  3. Open the map in the Galaxy Editor
  4. Enjoy

Disclaimer

The map is provided as is and is fully functional with respect to when it was published. If some Blizzard patch broke something it's not my fault. I will try to patch things up to correct bugs, but I cannot guarantee to succeed.

About Me

I'm an Italian Computer Engineer which loved doing maps for Starcraft and Warcraft III when was a boy.

I actually never came up to have enough free time to learn the Galaxy Editor but now, after many years since Starcraft II release, I decided to start some projects of my own. You can find more about these projects here.

One of this project was the RTC 2017 Mercenary Business map that ended, to my great surprise, in the top ten of the 2017 RTC contest.

I really really hope you might find them both useful and inspiring. Keep up the good work everyone!
