Standard Sheep Tag Gameplay
Sheep Tag is a Warcraft 3 genre that takes the cat-n-mouse genre and emphasizes mass construction and the chase, creating an intense experience. The game features up to 6v6 teams of wolves and sheep with two rounds where each team switches roles after the first round finishes. The sheep team must run and build many farms to survive the time limit and the wolves must chase down the sheep and use their abilities in an attempt to circumvent the defenses of the sheep. The game ends when either the sheep survive the time limit or when the wolves have captured all of the sheep.
With a Twist
While the game was originally based on the competitive sheep tag map "ReVoLuTiOn" by Chakra, I wanted to implement mechanics that made the game play more interesting (drawing some ideas from the "Return of the Shepard" series) and intensified the elements that made sheep tag fun in a way that accented the competitive drive and provided a refreshing yet nostalgic experience. A tall order.
In Sheep Tag Revival, wolves can choose from a pool of 18 (and counting) abilities to customize their play style. With four chosen offensive abilities (two of which unlock over the course of a round) and a detection ability, the wolves have a broad arsenal to combat the sheep.
However the sheep also have new defenses at their disposal. With new farms (more coming) and buffs that apply on the construction of various farms, the sheep has a wide array of options to pull from. There will soon be a way for sheep to customize their play style as well.
All of this combines into an intense, competitive, and fun experience.
