Hello Dears!

When first started making CCs, I made a list of complaints given from the players of TS4 I had found online. Some of the few I continued to see was lack of diversity, color options for Base Game Compatible clothing, and a need for more Maxis Match content. I recently found the list in an old drawer and decided to try and make a small dent in some of the issues.

(I don’t think I can really do much to help, but I figured any attempt at help may make someone’s day better.)

 So… Here I am.

Recently, I ran across some African American AI created single and family portraits. I went through over 3000 (pre-made by other artists) images, and decided to make a set of Diverse Portraits. The artists would get paid from using their images, and I would be able to give more options to Sims 4 Players.

I tried my very best to search and vet all this pictures, and make sure nothing went through the cracks, but 3000 photos were a lot to go through all on my own. If you find anything that shows any hint of disrespect, please let me know so I can remove them ASAP.

This was made to strengthen the Sims 4 Community and hopefully inject more beauty in diversity within our games. I will be releasing other “parts”, with each one being focused on another group of people. I don’t want to leave anyone out, so I’m doing it in organized sections. It may take time to gather all the cultural info and build the sets, so please be patient for the other parts.

I am excited to use this set as another learning opportunity to expand my knowledge about the world around me. My education wasn’t the greatest growing up, and I haven’t been able to travel and experience a lot  of different cultures first hand.

This took me about 4 months, altogether. It’s one of my favorites, and I love using them in my game so far. I hope you love them too!

About this Item:

-Has 113 Swatches

-BGC

-All swatches are unique, no doubles.

Questions you may have:

-Why so many swatches?

Genetics are crazy and has so many variables... I wanted to give you as many “Family/Single” portraits as possible so you can hopefully find a happy match for your sim family.

-Why do they not look like Sims 4 Characters?

I like to think sims look just like us, but since we see them at a height difference they look like cartoons to us.

Thus, I looked for more human-ish portraits then cartoon-y affects.

-Why did this part of the set have 4 category options?

Again, for more choices given to you, and to make sure you can easily find a photo for your family.

- What time frames are these set in?

Time frames were set in 1900s to current day dependent on the images I was able to find.

-Why AI and not actual photos?

I don’t know if I would want my beloved ancestors in a video game, so I tried to avoid that option for the sake of any family member who could have potentially seen it and gotten upset.

-Why are some of the people in the photos not smiling?

In the early days of photography, it took several minutes to take a photo because cameras relied on slow chemical reactions. If subjects moved at all, the image turned out blurry.A smile was more difficult to hold for a long period of time, so people grimaced or looked serious.”    -History.Nebraska.gov
