Exterior features: The home is a traditional mid-century Americana split-level splayed across two stories, in gray cinderblock and gray siding with matching gray roof trim. The roof is a shallow gable with eccentric front facade. Roofing is solar tile, with some grass. All windows are modern and all rooms offer exceptional natural light. The property features full fencing, and a pool as well as a hot tub, plus plenty of lush landscaping and green grass all on the ground level.
Three SimPrime favorite things about this home:
- It isn't terribly large outside but inside feels massive. There's just so much space for activities
- It takes inspiration from a real home in Minneapolis, MN, USA - though this lot is entirely unique to itself.
- I really tried to make it feel like a mid-century home came crashing into the mid-21st century head first..
ETC: I designed this home to be as if someone in the year 2030 was remodeling a Mid-Century split-level. I think it turned out great and I had a lot of fun building it, though there are some things I would have done differently given other furnishings. I also originally wanted to do this on a budget of <60k but it didn't come even close. Towards the end I was just adding things and changing others out for more expensive items just to get it to 200k. :)
