By default this mod simply lets you reload the last last loaded game from the title menu by pressing a hotkey. Before using it for the first time, you have to load into a game to let it know which save to use.
The config.json file created when you first run the game with this mod installed contains the following options:

SaveFolder is set automatically, no need to change that.
If UseLastLoaded is set to false the mod will only switch saves when you save, not when you load a save.
Technical:
Requires SMAPI, doesn't use Harmony.
Compatible with Mod Updater for automatic updates.
