Getting a Board
You can like craft a complete in the totally radical crafting menu using:
4 Hardwood (for the custom maple deck)
1 Iridium Bar (for bodacious bearings)
1 Iron Bar (for truck, coping, etc.)
1 Refined Quartz (for grip tape)
10 Sap (for risers, wheels, grip tape)
You can also type skateboard into the SMAPI console to get a complete board for free - excellent!
Usage
To ride, hold a complete board and press the ride button (default Right Mouse). To bail, press the ride button again.
If you get stuck on something, bail.
I recommend using this mod with Yet Another Jump Mod, both for performing wicked techs and for getting unstuck.
This mod sometimes ignores collisions with removable objects, let's just call it a feature.
Config
You can totally change not only the above most excellent requirements in the config, but also max speed, acceleration, deceleration, and the ride button.
Custom Boards
You can change the board texture (found at assets/board.png) using Content Patcher and targeting the following path:
