UPDATE: V.1.1.3 is now compatible with Poltergeister's Seasonal Outfit Mods (SVE, SVE Cuter, and Seasonal Cute)
This mod changes Sophia’s wedding outfit to incorporate traditional Saami regalia and includes:
- Blue Gákti tunic dress with woven ribbon appliqué and delicate pewter embroidery
- Red Naisenlakki bonnet with delicate white lace ribbons (depending on the season)
- Silk Silkkihuivi shawl with tassels
- Reindeer hide leggings (depending on the season)
- Nutukkaat (Brown leather shoes or white reindeer hide boots with upturned toes, depending on the season) with tupsut tassels.
- Pewter tiara with multiple risku pewter brooches pinned to her shawl (her own, plus borrowed from other Saami women with happy marriages)

The Saami are a semi-nomadic people whose homeland stretches across northern Finland, Sweden and Norway and part of
northwestern Russia. Best known for traditional reindeer herding, the Saami are also gentle, creative, and adaptative people, with a strong sense of community and deep love for the natural world around them.
What I found interesting while researching for this project was that, due to various socio-political issues at the time, many Saami people immigrated to North America during the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. And today, many Saami people also live and work in places all over the world.
Considering this, I thought it would suit Sophia’s personality and background to give her a Saami heritage -- with her great-grandparents immigrating to Stardew Valley in the early 20th century. Sophia is a shy and socially anxious character when first meeting her, but after getting to know her and gain her trust, you come to see she has a strong sense of family, tradition, and a deep love of all things fun and creative.
While I haven’t decided if both sides of Sophia’s family are Saami or not, given how much you’ve helped support her and find meaningful connections with the other people in Stardew Valley, I think she would be ready to share all aspects of her family heritage with your farmer on your big day.

If you want this mod to be compatible with other sprite editing mods, you'll need to either delete Sophia's wedding version in those mods or only have this one installed. Having two different mods that change Sophia's wedding appearance will not work together and may cause the game to crash.*
