ForgottenChat first came to being in the early years of World of Warcraft because I felt that the MMO style chat system works well for numerous multi-user channels, but trying to participate in even a small number of two-person communications left a lot to be desired.  Years later, MMOs still use WoW's standard chat paradigm of throwing all private messages into a single tab of a chat log, and it still sucks for two-person communication.  Therefore, when I started playing Wildstar, I decided to revive ForgottenChat.

ForgottenChat creates individual chat windows for each whisper conversation you have, providing you with a communications system much more akin to the familiar SMS/Gchat/MSN interfaces.

Features
  • More familiar interface for whispered conversations
  • An optional Unified Windows mode to keep all conversations in a single window.
  • Supports English, French and German Wildstar clients.
  • Functions with both normal, and account whispers
  • Nine different skins to choose from
  • Timestamps
  • Emoticon support! :)
  • Common action buttons, allowing easy group inviting or ignoring
  • Minimize your conversations by double clicking on the window headers
  • Combat awareness
  • Long term whisper logging
  • Uses the Chat Reply keybind
  • Automatically attempts to determine level, class and other information about your conversation partner
    • Due to limitations of the API, this functionality is unreliable, and in some specific situations may be downright broken. It is disabled by default.  Leave it disabled if you find yourself getting spammed with /who messages for unknown reasons
  • Complete Item, Quest and Archive Article linking integration
    • Send, and interact with received links as you would with the regular chat interface
    • Preview items whispered to you (Ctrl+Click)
  • URL detection and copying
    • Click a URL to copy it
    • Shift+Click to copy a larger text segment
