Custom icons for the vehicles, ammo, equipment, consumables, crew, ranks, and skills and perks for the game. Inside the folder res_mods/gui/maps/icons/artefacts you will find some additional icons that you may prefer, just rename them for the original and use them.

  • Crew icons have multiple medals for each country, for example a US crewmember may have Silver Star, Bronze Star or Purple Heart, the crew will have a mixed medal set
  • Ammo shows background stripe, silver for AP non-premium, gold for premium, red for HE
  • Equipment and Consumables show the percent of increase or decrease in gold
  • Vehicle icons in the hangar has camo applied, different set of camo for each nation
  • Skills and Perks show maximum benefit (percentage) at 100% or delay in seconds for some special skills/perks

Requires manual install. Inside zip file is a custom sub-directory and under that a mods sub-directory. Move or copy the mods directory to the World of Tanks game directory. Only the mods and all the directories and files under that, NOT the custom directory.

MODIFICATION OF OPTIONS: First install the original Custom Icons as described. Then to install and/or change the vehicle icons for the tech tree to one without colored backgrounds do the following:
  • To change from the Default to one of the optional modes:
    • Go to res_mods/x.x.x/gui/maps/icons/vehicle
    • You will see the "small" and small_no_bkgd sub directories
    • Copy the contents of the option you want to install to the small directory. I have included a "default" directory of the originals, if you want to restore back to original.
ALTERNATE FLAGS IN BARRACKS For some the display of "historical" flags is an issue, so this replaces the large flag image in the background with a different flag style

MODIFICATION OF OPTIONS: First install the original Custom Icons as described. Then to install and/or change the crew icons for the barracks to one of the Alternate Flags Mode do the following:
  • To change from the Default to one of the optional modes:
    • Go to res_mods/x.x.x/gui/maps/icons/tankmen/icons/
    • You will see the "barracks" and various sub directories barracks_german_1, barracks_german_2, baracks_japan_1, etc
    • Copy the contents of the option you want to install to the barracks directory. I have included a "default" directory of the originals, if you want to restore back to original.
  • CAUTION: Not all options have complete sets of icons, some are missing the female crew members
