Class/Spec Filter?

So, under the General tab in the settings, the first thing you are welcomed with is your character's Class, with Completion mode. Directly under this is a handy little toggle for "account mode" in case you want ATT to run everything, regardless of your character's race or class.

Now, I looked, but I couldn't find a setting anywhere, so I would like to suggest an additional filter button be placed next to this one labeled as follows:

SPEC FILTER

Currently, I have a bunch of currency items in my bags because ATT said they were still needed to complete the collection. On closer inspection, some of these currencies are used for alternative spec items, and so have no value for my character. The characte'rs equip, ent and gears have been tailored for their specific spec, and so will not be changing.

How you wish to implement this (either as having your char/spec by default, and a toggle to enable all specs similar to the toggle to enable all class/race options - I'm fine either way. But I really would like this filter to be an option, and help clear up bag, bank and other inventory spaces :3

EDIT - I realise this has turned into a suggestion, rather than just the issue of ATT seeing everything specific to a class beingg "obtainable" regardless that some specs may not be able to obtain them, but there doesnt' appear to be a suggestion tab in any case.

Fair enough, never considered that there would be a lot of extra work involves with flagging items and stuff. I thought it would just be a adding a tick box, and the system would automatically sort that stuff out :/

Blizzard provides some spec-related information concerning Items, but we've seen that it's very unreliable for accuracy. Sometimes it's correct, sometimes it's missing viable specs, sometimes it says no specs but it available for some... One of the reasons we can't viably implement a forever-requested "Personal Loot" filter. We just can't trust the data we get from Blizzard at this time.

Spec - highly unlikely.
Class - I can see how it can be useful.

Class filter exists - or rather, your current character which is class/race filtered. There is already a toggle for "account" which is unchecked by default. A spec toggle would filter out all the junk your current character can't get unless they change spec.

I know there's no real penalities for changing spec these days, but for some class/specs there would be no reason to change, other than to collect stuff for the other specs. So even if you say it's unlikely, I still hope it will be taken into consideration :3

It's all (account mode) or just your current class approach. I could see how letting the user choose multiple classes can be useful (for example if someone mains two classes).

What is the junk that you don't want to see? Other than Legion artifacts and Shadowlands conduits nothing comes to mind.

I sort of understand your decisions, but I can't say that ATT can align to your particular vision in this case. ATT is relatively reluctant to add filters at the character level when simply clicking a button would allow you to switch that filter. Many complain that there already too many filters to restrict what is visible, and adding a filter based on current specialization would require a ton of data adjustments by the contributors to know things that are spec-specific. I just don't think this is a case for another filter.

My main has a bunch of crap from BFA as well - currency items that were required to obtain azurite gear skills? Or cape stuff? I dunno exactly. All I know is, the same currency is used for different specs, so although my current spec is technically complete, it still says 1/2 50% completed or whatever

Things like this is why I still have this stuff in my bags, not wanting to chuck it out in order to get 100% completion, not realizing that they are other spec stuff, and unavailable in current spec. I play a ton of alts, so it gets kinda confusing will all these stuff in different chat bags - doun't wanna chuck out the wrong stuff on the wring char etc. I have a char of every spec to maintain my addon, so yeah.

Would make my life a bit easier too :P
