Is this normal behaviour?

Is there a way to block getting duplicate alerts for same items?

I have "report collected things" enabled in options
Do i need to have it on? I dont want to miss something that wouldnt have a standard blizzard alert in chat, but same time dont want 2x alerts the things blizz DOES announce

No problem, I was just hoping there was an obvious fix as it tends to spam my chat when running raids and such where I unlock many appearances, so its harder to scroll through that and other text im trying to catch up on :P

I don't think there is a way now. I guess it could technically be done. But I have noticed that Blizzard sometimes does not send this kind of notifs even if you unlock the first appearance out of the set of shared appearances. Mostly happens with low-level quests, no idea why. So simply not reporting the first unlocked appearance might be wrong and it would add more checks.

I personally don't see much value in this addition.

Yea the yellow text is Blizzard telling you for a new Appearance, the white text is ATT telling you for a new Source. Blizzard doesn't tell you a new Source for a known Appearance, hence the ATT option to force this.
We could technically implement logic to differentiate between the two, but it's obviously extra work and would probably miss reporting something somewhere which would require one-off fixes... would rather leave it more verbose and accurate :)

Also, just don't pick up any encounter/boss-loot during raids and deal with it all at once at a mailbox later. Then you don't need to worry about chat spam in the raid ;)
