Feature Request: customizable map pins for quest locations

Hello,

Is there any chance to implement map pins for all quest locations?
From what I can see, there is already location info of every quest either way.
This would be similar to Wholly + Grail except improved, without bugs / obnoxious things cluttering your UI as the DEV's don't seem to be interested in improving those addons

I feel like it would be a feature that most completionist would LOVE, since I always found trying to track those last bunch of missing quests was a bit of a pain, in ATT windows

Thank you for consideration, love the addon :)

Fair enough. It was a suggestion obviously. No need to answer like a ****.
Thank you either way.

I would like to see ALL quest locations on the zone, before I even start it.

Just open a zone list of the zone you want to quest in and Alt + Right click on the Quests header. This will plot all quest locations.

Waypoints are a very watered down version of this as they dont properly adjust based on quest completion / non-completion.

I recommend simply adjusting your TomTom settings, it has an option to remove waypoint when you are close enough and you can set your desired distance. This is not ideal but at least something.

go through the list and find each one

I'm not 100% sure but I think plotting the entire Quests list will only plot incomplete quests so you don't need to find them manually. (Or maybe it only works with rares? I forgot)

Thank you for taking the time to reply Molkree.
I am aware of how TomTom works and am currently using it.
The problem with plotting all quests is that as you quest, the pins may appear or disappear by mistake since they are removed when closeby. If i am flying over it, the pin goes bye bye. This does not happen with Wholly+Grail as they are not simple TomTom waypoints.

You are right it is not ideal and is at least something, I was simply voicing what I would like to see for my own needs, it is up to you all as the DEV's to determine if it would be useful. For me it is, for others it may not be.

Chances are, I will not bother with plotting waypoints as getting rid of them or disserning them from other TomTom waypoints that come from other sources like rares or special treasures etc. is too hard.

I will probably just wait till zone is nearly done, then manually plot the missing ones to find them.
At that point, I will just stick with Grail + Wholly until that addon is no longer working.

Hope this explains it in more detail, thank you again for wonderful addon.

Alt + Right click plots waypoint, this works for anything with coordinate attached. If you click on the list of quests ATT will plot coordinates for all quests in the list (this works for any list, vendors, rares, etc).
Isn't it enough? How customizable do you want the pins to be?

I would like to see ALL quest locations on the zone, before I even start it. That is what Grail + Wholly does.
Using ATT waypoint feature is more of a "I missed quests at the very end of the zone, let me go through the list and find each one". I would like to be able to see on the map quest locations, and remember to visit that area before I move on to another quest hub. That is what Grail + Wholly does. Waypoints are a very watered down version of this as they dont properly adjust based on quest completion / non-completion.
Having a visual representation of all the quest locations is very useful, same as how Handynotes does with treasures and rares.

Here is a screenshot example:

Also by customization, I meant just a simple scale, colour, icon graphic control, etc.
Nothing more. The icons are simple "quest complete? no icon. quest incomplete? show icon."

Grail + Wholly use a database and then show these icons (poorly, since the addon is basically abandoned).
You already have all the quest info in ATT, why not biuld on it slightly? There are no other alternatives right now sadly...

We do not have our own waypoint rendering engine built into ATT. We make use of TomTom. What you see using those waypoints is what you get.

I just want to mention that you can change in your TomTom settings so that waypoints don't disappear.
If I plot waypoints in ATT, I have to right-click them and select the option to remove them for them to disappear from my map.

Correct. Problem is TomTom in my case is mostly used for things like treasures elite spawn points, etc that sometimes would populate many points at the same time. Manually clicking to delete points is exhausting depending on how many points there are. A lot of zones have insane amount quests, manually clicking them all would not be ideal, at which point I'd rather get Wholly+Grail.

If one day Wholly & Grail no longer work (maybe even with Dragonflight?) then I would have no choice but to either not have these points, or use TomTom as you said but only for last few quests left on the zone.

Just my 2 cents.
Thanks
