Smolderon Lava Geysers countdown is inconsistent between 1st and 2nd of each phase
The first Lava Geyser Bigwigs bossbar countdown of each phase counts down to the time where the baits come out - hence, at 2 seconds left on the countdown, the boss will begin to cast a 2-second cast for the geysers, at the end of which the swirls arrive.
The second Lava Geyser Bigwigs bossbar countdown of each phase counts down to the time where the CAST starts - hence, at 0 seconds left on the countdown, the boss will begin to cast a 2-second cast for the geysers, at the end of which the swirls arrive.

I understand intimiately that the boss's geyser timings can vary relative to other mechanics, which isn't the problem. The problem is that the countdown is for completely different things and is therefore inconsistent. It should always dictate when the cast starts, or when the cast ends, not either or.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Go into LFR smolderon
2. Look at the Boss bar cast for Lava Geysers, entitled "Geysers".
3. Notice that the first one of each phase, it will go 5 4 3 2 (CAST STARTS) 1 0 (CAST ENDS). Notice that the second one of each phase, it will go 5 4 3 2 1 0 (CAST STARTS, 2 seconds pass, CAST ENDS)
