DESCRIPTION:
Hey fellow World of Warcraft roleplayers!
I've got something exciting to share with you all! I've recently created my very first addon called ChatRecap, and I'm on the lookout for playtesters. So, listen up!
Ever been caught up in an amazing roleplaying session, only to suddenly find yourself pulled away from the game? We've all been there, right? Well, fear no more!
Here's the deal: ChatRecap is a nifty addon designed to keep you connected with your roleplaying buddies even when you need to go AFK. So, before you step away from your keyboard, you simply click on the characters of the friends you're currently roleplaying with. In return, a special chat frame pops up, capturing all the messages from the folks you've listed. There's also a logging function that allows you to save all the messages that have been send in the chat log!
No more feeling left out or scrambling to catch up on the juicy conversations you missed! ChatRecap keeps you in the loop, even when life calls you away from the game. It's especially handy during those big social gatherings where tons of players are chatting away, and you don't want to miss a beat.
Now, here's the thing—I'm a total newbie when it comes to creating addons for WoW. So, I need your help to make ChatRecap even better! I'd love to get your constructive criticism and suggestions to improve the user interface, which I admit isn't the friendliest just yet.
If you're up for some playtesting fun, come join me! We'll kick off the first round of playtests using ChatRecap as a standalone addon. After that, we can explore how well it plays with other mods and make sure it integrates smoothly.
I'm super excited about this project, and I'd love for you to be part of the journey. So, hit me up in this group chat or shoot me a message on Discord (Jordy#0848) to sign up as a playtester.
As it stands now, I'm rounding up some minor inconveniences but it already works as it should.
See you ingame!
Jordy
USAGE:
1.1 Type /afk or change your state to afk.
1.2 NEW: You can now also type /chatr to open up the window without having to go afk!
2.1 A window will pop up asking you to click on the player characters you would like to keep track of!
2.2 Clicked on a wrong person? No problem! Click on them again to delete them from the list of players you want to keep track of! (A message in your personal chat log will tell you if they've been added or deleted)
3. After you're done, press the Add Players button and a new window will show up, logging their messages while you're grabbing a coffee!
4.1 Boom, your own custom chat frame! There's also a small button that says "log". If you click on it you can instantly copy everything that has been recently said by your friends!
4.2 When you're done, change your afk state back and you can simply click on the X to turn off the window. The logging will continue in the background, so you can always type /chatr, cancel and get your log from the evening!
