What is this addon?
Dynamic Weather is an addon that adds a much more advanced weather system to WoW! It is purely an interface-based addon and is fully compliant with the terms of service. If you were looking for something to add a bit of realism and immersion to your game, then look no further!
Features:
- Weather patterns for all zones that shift every hour, based on what their climates would be realistically.
- Immersive creen and sound effects!
- Real-world types of weather and more Warcraft-centric ones! Sandstorms, snowstorms, heat waves, hurricanes, tropical storms, thunderstorms, felstorms on Argus and other legion worlds, and more!
- "Synced" weather where everyone in the game will see the same effects, done via a seed-based random generator! No data is transferred, instead everybody gets the same results when determining what the current forecast is!
- The ability to alter weather locally or among friends on a continental scale to suit your mood!
This is, in the end, a proof of concept, and if you wish to try and create a better version of this addon then absolutely feel free! I hope this adds to your WoW experience.
Useful Things to Know
Commands!
- "/dwcycle" will resync the current weather across the whole game world, and is useful if you've changed a setting or two!
- "/dwforecast" will print the current chance of weather for every continent as well as what's happening in every zone currently!
