Ever played WoW with your mates and got confused between the (often weird) names of their alts
Ever thought that remembering peoples' character names is harder than Echo of Neltharion in Aberrus? (Sarkareth is probably harder so...)
Like, I wish I could somehow know at a glance that the character PussInBoots belonged to my pal Bob, without having to ask on Discord whose character it is!
Well, fret not! That's exactly what this addon can help you achieve!
It provides custom name tags which you can use, alongside a simple, comfortable configuration to add player aliases, to have different names shown on any ElvUI unit frame (which supports name tags)!
The name tags are equivalent to [name] provided by ElvUI (including the status and long, short, medium, very short modifiers).
Once you install the addon, simply replace the name in tag to namealias and your setup is done! All you need to do now is map the alias and character names.
To do that, follow the steps below:
1. Go to ElvUI configuration (/elvui)
2. Open the PlayerAliases plugin page (somewhere around left bottom)
3. Make sure it's enabled, and in text box add the list of aliases, and click accept!. That's all!
The aliases are in the following format:
alias characterName1 characterName2 ...
In that format, one line per person, you can add as many aliases as you want.
