I have stopped playing wow, so don't expect updates. I expect the addon continue to work until Blizzard changes something in the keybinding user interface.
This addon allows faster camera zooming as less mouse scrolling required. Creates new key binding options for faster camera zoom in/out. Goal is do this with absolute minimum performance hit.
Usage:
Open wow keybinding settings.
Open category 'Camera' on from left side list.
Find section 'Fast Zoom Hard'.
Bind your previous zoom in/out keys to these new 'Fast Zoom In' / 'Fast Zoom out'. My chooses: Mouse Wheel Up and Down
If you want smaller step zooming, bind new keys to 'Zoom In' / 'Zoom out' at upper in list. These have WoW original zooming. My chooses: CTRL-Mouse Wheel Up and Down
After this you can zoom in and out faster, but camera moves really slow after your zooming by default. Run following command to make camera follow zooming as fast as possible. Command is casesensitive: /console cameraDistanceMoveSpeed 50
WoW saves this setting when you reload ui or logout or exit game nicely. So no need to run it again until you reinstall wow or delete wtf-folder. This setting is per account, all characters use same.
To restore above change to default, run: /console cameraDistanceMoveSpeed 8.33
