GuildBook Apprently Destroyed my Guildies Wow account

Hi there,
I use Guildbook and asked my Guildies to give it a try,
My one Guild member, using a macbook, tried to use it, and it corrupted his wow, deleted his characters? im not sure how that is even possible but i feel terrible!
Hi, that's quite an interesting read.
I've double checked with some other addon authors, (big addons by experienced players/devs) and they have confirmed that an addon cannot do these things. Addons are very limited in what they can do and they only run inside of the game.
I would suggest maybe this person runs a full security scan on their device but as for guildbook it simply cannot do what is being suggested here.

if anyone has some tech advice - i'm on a Mac, I'v been trying install Guildbook addon.. I know I have it in the correct file pathway, but I get no addon button at sign in and cant work out what the issue is.

arrgh - i got it installed and now Wow doesnt work whatsoever. Gonna have to uninstall Guildbook.. is there an alternative?

i found that i had 2 seperate installs so my addon would be inside my wow folder but it was runngin a different wow, it shouldnt give you errors tbh?

i have wow and wow classic ... i've removed the guildbook, tried to relong in and all wow files are corrupted... i contacted battlenet who told me i have only one character ( not true ) ... they eventually have told me to wipe them and reinstall. Effing nightmare. They also said they know of many problems with guildbook on Macs. sounds weird but thats what they said

i also had a fatal corruption or whatever so i just have 2 for incase =/ but i figured it was more from my unstable internet and power issues of my country

yea it can be a pain when things just dont work, i get really frustrated. i dont touch a pc for a day atleast to cool off when i have issues like that. when my crash happened i was in Arca hc, on the last boss! ugh. traumatizing

reload proved useless.. all toons gone. Devastated. Blizzard telling me to download game from scratch after they do some back end stuff. So stressed.

also make sure you are EU not NA

Its not possible to loose characters tho, even at the bottom right of your login screen there is a recover deleted character button.

so, it seems all fixed now...UI'd twice and toons came back. Second ticket answer sugggested a server issue. I did have two WoW's like you suggested, but on reload now only have one. Could have hooked me to US instead of EU? Unsure, but all I know is now it's ok. What a melodrama. Thanks for keeping an eye out.
Personally i enjoy the addon, would like it to work for all my guildies i feel it has so much potential, aside from this mishap thank you for the work!
