Very simple addon to hide unused/empty action bar slots on the default action bar. Vanilla WoW UI only allows this option on other action bars.
Specifically created to handle Druid shapeshifting events, have not tested on any other classes.
There is also a very slight delay before the slots disappear if shapeshifting, but not super noticeable.
