Tracks honorable kills, daily quests, and gold looted across characters and allows manual cross-account import/export.

The interface may be opened with: /hkt

This addon is primarily intended for Cataclysm Classic where the tracking for the 250,000 honorable kills achievement is currently broken. It also tracks daily quests completed and gold looted so users can find their progress towards the new achievements for these that release in Mists of Pandaria (10,000 daily quests and 250,000 gold looted).

N.B. This bug may be fixed as of Dragon Soul's release in Cataclysm Classic.

Features:

  • Automatically records statistics for honorable kills, daily quests, and gold looted per character after each loading screen, according to the game's statistics tab.
  • Tracker window for displaying honorable kills per character and their game account
  • Ability to export the data from one account and import it to another
  • Automatically synchronizes with your alt if it is in the same party and encounters a loading screen.

Purpose

Progress on some achievements, including 250,000 honorable kills, is shared across all characters belonging to all World of Warcraft subscriptions under the same battle.net account. Statistics under the statistics tab (in the achievement window) are per-character only.

Under normal circumstances the easiest way to track progress on the achievement would be its own progress bar. However currently as of patch 4.4.1 in Cataclysm Classic the achievement's tracking is broken and the achievement is not obtainable. This is expected to be fixed by Mists of Pandaria Classic. Therefore this addon is currently the best way to track kills across characters.

Mists of Pandaria will also introduce achievements for 10,000 daily quests completed and 250,000 gold looted, which will be account-bound.

Cross-Account Support

Addons in WoW may save data per-account. Data is stored in the following directory:

World of Warcraft/{game version};/WTF/Account/{account name}/SavedVariables

Addons will use this directory for storing both settings and data. Honorable Kill Tracker will store its statistics in HKTracker.lua.

Because SavedVariables are account-specific, Honorable Kill Tracker cannot automatically update data from your other accounts. To address this, the addon supports exporting data from one account and importing it to another.

To share data across accounts:

  • Log into your alternative account and open the interface with /hkt
  • Navigate to the Export tab
  • The export string will be prefilled and selected in the text box in this tab. Select the text and copy the data with Ctrl + C

Export Data

  • Log into your main account and open the interface with /hkt
  • Navigate to the Import tab
  • Paste the string and press "Import"

Import Data

After a successful import the honorable kill data from the alternative account will be displayed in the tracker window. This process will need to be repeated whenever new data is needed from the alternative account.

N.B. If you are in the same party as your alt from another account, the addon will attempt to synchronize data with them via AddOn messages. This will only update the alt's data, not its whole account due to the length limit of WoW messages. To ensure an alternate account's data is fully synchronized beyond just the alt in your party, use the export/import functionality.
