ShinyLoot is a set of tools meant to assist in distributing loot. It lets you build a variety of profiles, each with their own gear wishlist, and organize them in groups where you can have the information of multiple profiles displayed in various ways (such as seeing which profiles in a given group need a particular item in that item's tooltip).
Note that this project is being worked on as I am learning programming, and as such, especially in the alpha stages, is subject to wild changes to its structure, functionality and performance (not that performance matters much, as you are unlikely to be distributing loot in the middle of a raid encounter).
Important Notice(s)
Alpha 20 made it so the addon compresses the messages it sends to other players, which breaks all communication features (hyperlinks, data sync) with older versions.
Alpha 19 changed the addon's file structure somewhat. Consequently, you may want to delete your ShinyLoot folder completely before installing this update, to remove useless files, if you are updating from an earlier version.
Alpha 11 introduced automatic data synchronization between players. Unfortunately, one of the game's built-in function may not be working properly at the moment (I believe it was fixed, but not completely certain), preventing good communication between users. Because of this, data might not synchronize properly and hyperlinks might not work cross-realm. Hyperlinks and synchronization will succeed within the same realm, and other features will work properly.
Usage
- You can access the addon's window by using the slash command /sl or /shinyloot
- Loot windows can be created (or displayed, if they already exist) using the command /sl lw [Item Link]
- Profile and Group synchronization between users can be achieved simply by using the owner's character(s) name(s) as the Owner. Keep in mind that you must also set yourself up as an owner for your own Profiles and Groups, otherwise you will not respond to any sync request.
