An addon for guild class chat channels, originally made for the guild Vortex. This allows you to avoid the headaches of custom chat channels. It only communicates with guild members who also has the addon.

The channels are:

  • Druid (/druid)
  • Hunter (/hunter)
  • Mage (/mage)
  • Paladin (/paladin)
  • Priest (/priest)
  • Rogue (/rogue)
  • Shaman (/shaman)
  • Warlock (/warlock)
  • Warrior (/warrior)
  • Healer (/healer or /h)
  • Tank (/tank)

A player is by default in the corresponding class channel.

Usage

/vc join <channel> - join a VortexChat channel. A player is not restricted to their own class channel and can freely join any channel.

/vc leave <channel> - leave a VortexChat channel.

/vc list - list all the VortexChat channels you are currently in.

/vc who <channel> - list who is in a VortexChat channel.

/vc versionquery - queries the VortexChat version from everyone in the guild with the addon. [For the developer/officers, to see who has the addon.]

/vc frame <id> - set the chat frame in which to display VortexChat messages. <id> is an integer in the range 1 to 10. For advanced custom UIs.

/vc color <channel> - set the color of a channel. By default, class channels use a slightly lighter version of the class color. You may want to adjust it if you feel it is too close to party/say etc.

To chat in a channel, simply use /warlock, /healer etc. The healer channel also has a shorter /h. You can also use /class for your own class.

The escape sequences %t or %n will be substituted for your current target (same as for Blizzard channels). This allows for macros such as /hunter Tranquilizing Shot on %t! or /healer *** Resurrecting %t ***
