Origin & Rules
A friend of mine introduced me to an interesting gambling game that you and one other person can take part in. With how fun it can be, I decided to make an addon out of it.
The rules of the game are simple, you would start by doing a /roll of how much gold you wanted to bet. Someone who was interesting in challenging you would /roll the outcome of the challenger's roll. It's a turn-based game, so each roll would start the other player's turn. It continue like this until a player rolled a one. At this time, the player who rolled the one would be the loser of the round.
Here's an example of a round (Challenger = A; Opponent = B):
The challenge wants to bet 1,000g, so he performs a roll out of 1,000. The numbers you see in square parenthasis are the outcomes of the rolls
A: /roll 1000 [568]
B: /roll 568 [253]
A: /roll 253 [93]
B: /roll 93 [13]
A: /roll 13 [2]
B: /roll 1
This round shows that the opponent (B) has lost and must pay the challenger 1,000g.
Details
Using the same fundamentals of the game, this addon takes the typing required out of the game and adds a sleek UI for players to interact with. The UI is user-friendly and simplistic allowing for ease of use. Statistics have also been added to keep track of all sorts of details, the following information is available for viewing:
1. Global Statistics
- Highest Gold Win
- Highest Gold Loss
- Longest Round (Roll count)
- Worst Roll
- Worst Loss by Chance
- Total Gold Won
- Total Gold Lost
- Gold Win-Lose Ratio
2. Overall & Character Totals
- Number of Games Played
- Number of Wins
- Number of Losses
- Number of Cancellations
- Win-Lose Ratio
- Game-Cancel Ratio
- Balance (Difference calculated by gold won subtracting gold loss
Using WoW Bets
Use the following commands to navigate around the addon
/wbi or /wowbets
- help - display help information in your chat window
- show - display main game frame
- stats - display game statistics frame
Play Buttons
- Gold Coin: Starts a betting session
- Dice: Execute your turn of the game
- Cancel: Cancels the game (can only be done when the current roll outcome is above 50% of the bet value)
