Faelor's Paladin WeakAura Suite for the Burning Crusade (TBC)

What Is It

Five (5) WeakAuras that form a suite (package of packages) that can be used by any paladin in the World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade (TBC) expansion. Works for holy, protection, retribution, or anything in between.

While these WeakAuras were developed with level 70 paladins in mind, they work for lowbie paladins as well. Many icons will not be loaded until a particular ability is learned, or talent is taken. If you do find what you believe to be a bug, please leave either a comment on this WagoIO profile or contact Faelor. Instructions below.

Installation

As of version 1.0.x, there are five (5) separate WeakAuras. This allows for more customization by you without the headache of dealing with a single monolithic WeakAura where there many be unintended consequences for updating a single piece.

NOTE: Pieces 2-5 are oriented based off of where the core (1) piece is. This may be changed in the future.

At this time it is suggested you use all five (5) components:

  1. Faelor - Paladin Core (TBC)
  2. Faelor - Paladin Dynamic (TBC)
  3. Faelor - Paladin Auras (TBC)
  4. Faelor - Paladin Non-Core (TBC)
  5. Faelor - Paladin Maintenance (TBC)

Known Bugs and Issues

  • FIXED 05-31-2021 Some font sizes differ from one another. Need to streamline.
  • FIXED 05-15-2021 Spell IDs should be implemented in certain areas, not spell names
  • FIXED 05-13-2021 There are some edge-cases where a seal may not disable the red Inactive Seal icon.~
  • MOSTLY FIXED 05-14-2021 Not all icons display the GCD spinner. This will be streamlined.
  • FIXED. NEEDS MORE VALIDATION. 05-14-2021 Some abilities are not behaving or appearing correctly in non-English versions of the WoW client. The issue has been identified.

Plans

  • 05-17-2021 Build a more comprehensive, but optional, swing timer. Take into account different seals and buffs (Bloodlust, Heroism, Haste Potion, etc) to empower "seal twisting".

Clarification

This ection will grow over time with clarifying how some of the WAs work, and individual units.

  • There are TWO DIFFERENT melee swing trackers
    • A thinner one is loaded by default. It is thinner and does not count the swing down numerically.
    • There is a taller (thicker) bar available that also includes the numeric swing (3.2 sec, 1.8 sec, 0.3 sec, etc). You need to DISABLE the thinner bar and then ENABLE the thicker bar.
  • Swing tracker and 0.5 sec tick mark
    • When in combat, a pink swing timer appears above the mana bar. It's thin and relatively the same as the mana bar. However, many retribution paladins may want a more visible swing timer to help them make decisions in combat and to help with a concept known as "seal twisting". In that case, find the Swing Timer (thick bar) WeakAura unit in the Core parent and disable the "Never" checkbox in the "Load" tab. You will want to do the opposite for the Swing Timmer (thin bar) and disable it.
  • Seal and Judgement reminders
    • When in combat, a plus sign symbolizing a buff (AKA a paladin seal) and a negative sign symbolizing a debuff (AKA a paladin judgement) will appear. These act as reminders to maintain these buffs and debuffs.
    • At this time, the judgement reminder icon does not appear for holy paladins. Can be changed in configuration. If a judgement is applied as holy, it will appear however!
  • Judgements on target from other players
    • The lean, transparent judgement icons on the top-right hand-side tracks other Judgement debuffs applied to your target. This can help raid leaders and paladins to know what is currently on the target. While these may show up on the user's Target Debuffs unit frame, this provides a concise visual in the center of the screen. Feel free to disable ("never" in the Load tab) if you don't want it!
  • Forbearance countdown
    • There is now a separate bar to help track the forbearance debuff. This is meant to provide a better visual indicator than the standard top-right debuff with a "… seconds" timer. Like with everything else, disable if you find it intrusive or unnecessary for your style of play.

Shout Outs and Credit

I largely modeled these WeakAuras after what I had been using, modifying, and building in the retail version of WoW. So a large round of thanks for the inspiration as well as motivation goes out to:

And a large thank you for everyone else who has helped contribute feedback, bug reports, bug fixes, etc. 🙏
