Horrific Dictionary
Hello, and welcome. This group of Weakauras will help you get the most out of the Horrific Dictionary buff in Torghast and hopefully help you understand it better.
"What is Horrific Dictionary?"
Horrific Dictionary is an Anima Power in Torghast for any priest spec. For every "Word" spell you have cast, you will gain a 5 min buff that increases your intellect by 5%. A "Word" spell is every priest spell you have with the word "Word" in it. Examples include Shadow Word: Pain, Holy Word: Sanctify and Power Word: Barrier. Whenever you cast one of these spells, your buff updates, and you get more intellect. The more spells out of the list you have checked off, the more intellect you get. If you cast any "Word" spell at all, the whole buff gets refreshed, there is no need to cast ALL of the "Words" every 5 min. Just cast them all once, and keep the buff up.
"What does this Weakaura do?"
Several things!
-Firstly, it checks your first 100 buffs, and checks if the Anima Power Horrific Dictionary is among them (This is the power, not the int buff). If so, and you do not already have the actual intellect giving buff, it asks you to cast any "Word" spell to actually get the buff. Most of the times the buff will be active without you even thinking about it, but I feel the addition of this feature was warranted anyway.
-Next, when you have the buff, it checks which spells you already have in your Dictionary, and more importantly, which you do not. It tells you in a simple text format which ones you are missing, and still need to cast. Simple as. When every available "Word" spell has been cast, the list clears and the WA disappears to not clog up your screen. (Currently there is no message to show you have succesfully casted every spell, just an empty list. This might change in the future given enough feedback on the matter)
-A special case is Power Word: Snuggle, an Anima Power related "Word" that can only be activated if you have the Warm Blanket Anima Power and another person in your party. As such, if you are solo, you cannot get this "Word" in your Dictionary. If you are alone, the WA won't show Snuggle in the list. If you have one or more people with you, it will show it in the list.
"Any other tips?"
Yes most definitely.
-Don't feel restricted to the "Words" of only the spec you are playing. At the beginning of the First floor, as well as on every Shop and Boss floor, you get a small zone in which you can change specs and talents. Use this to cast as many "Word" spells as you can and get as many intellect as you can. There is a small caveat to this, though explained below
-Some "Words" are only available as talents choices, be sure pick these when you swap specs for extra intellect.
-Some spells require an enemy target, namely Pain, Death, Chastise and Solace. Be careful with these spells, it might just lock you into combat and remove your ability to switch specs, leaving you stuck in a spec you don't want to play. You have been warned, don't come crying back to me. There are ways to do this semi-safe, however. (Keep in mind this is all testing by me and friends, and is not 100% reliable)
-If you get Horrific Dictionary as your first Power of the run, you'll still have the buff that lets you swap talents. I've found that as long as you don't wander *too* far off, and don't collect
any Phantasma, you'll still have the buff. You can kill creatures to stack up the Targeted abilities above, and still swap back safely to your preferred spec afterwards. Just don't kill any
Phylacteries or Urns or whatever, and don't loot anything. Also, don't kill too much, that sometimes fucked it as well
-At a shop floor, there is a zone to swap talents. Easy enough. Sometimes there are also Urns you can use as an enemy target to cast one of the Targeted spells above at. Save these
Urns for these spells specifically, and you should be fine to get more Intellect out of your Dictionary. Keep in mind, killing the shopkeeper also removes the bubble.
-At a boss floor, you can still swap specs, but there are no other viable targets other than the Boss. Once the boss is engaged, the bubble disappears and you can no longer switch back
-Other players might be able to summon viable targets for you to cast your spells on. Example: Mages can summon Maw Rats with Conjure Refreshments if they have the
corresponding Anima Power
