Step up your game!
What this set does:
This collection of 85 weakauras displays BEST BUTTON TO PRESS AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT. It was created using the Icy Veins rotational guide: https://www.icy-veins.com/wow/brewmaster-monk-pve-tank-rotation-cooldowns-abilities
Philosophy:
Taking a MINIMALIST approach, this weakaura set displays as few icons as possible - usually just one or two - only the important stuff for any given second. It changes, in real time, from single target to multi-target and adapts to what talents you are using. This set is a bit more comprehensive than some of my other sets as I use it on my main toon. I made this set because I thought I could make a BETTER set than what I could find and had some time to do so over the holidays.
Features:
This set includes some PREDICTIVE features as to how much Purifying Brew will take away from your Stagger, How much Stagger you have, both, as a DoT and as a whole. In addition, it includes a HISTORY of Damage taken over 5 seconds and what type of damage that is (ie Physical or Magical).
In addition, there are of course, some cool OTHER features like statue management, de buff trackers, whodied announcements, combat time, targets in range, repair, lust, potion, Health as a percent, cool resource displays with predictive gains, interrupts, dispels, Leech amounts, duration timers, target health, healer mana for m+, healer drinking, off tank died prototype, "Healer out of Range" aura, etc. It's truly amazing what weakauras can do!
Ease:
But don't let ALL these features scare you off! I only display what you need to know at THAT moment, changing dynamically, in real-time, without any hassle. In addition, I use "check every frame" trigger sparingly and I never use "full CPU scan" triggers. I also keep the animations to a minimum to avoid load lag when entering combat. I spent a good deal of time on this set. Please enjoy and LET ME KNOW HOW TO IMPROVE. This will most likely get a few more iterations as I'm still testing it.
TL:DR - This is the best* weakauras2 set you'll import!
*for bm monk
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This set of weakauras looks at ENEMY NAMEPLATES. If you can not see them, neither can the weakaua and thus will not work properly. Please ENABLE NAMEPLATES! . To enable nameplates, press CTRL v on your keyboard. I ALSO recommend you make sure your nameplates are CLAMPED TO SCREEN This will allow the nameplates to show when say, a boss for example, is taller than your screen. To "clamp to screen", go into your setting of your nameplates and look for a check box OR copy/paste this into your chat:
/script SetCVar("nameplateOtherBottomInset", 0.1);SetCVar("nameplateOtherTopInset", 0.08)
OPTIONAL FONTS & TEXTURES:
When creating this set, I used NON-DEFAULT FONT called INTRO BLACK which is much thicker and easier to read. It is included in the Elvui Shadow & Light addon (which is a companion to Elvui - you need both if you want this font). By default, weakauras uses Friz Quadrata TT. A good font, but thinner and harder to read. For textures, I use SharedMedia: Diabolic. which requires the SharedMedia addon (you need both if you want this texture). There are ways of adding fonts without these addons, but a bit complex to install. But if interested, check out SharedMedia and this video. I, however, recommend just choosing a font that you like, that is already installed.
Again, THE FONTS AND TEXTURES ARE OPTIONAL AND NOT REQUIRED

ADJUST TO FIT YOUR SCREEN
Scaling
About modifying the group for your needs, I can help a little. First, after typing /wa in chat and opening the options, on the left column, what you have selected matters. For example, you could have the whole set selected or just the individual aura in the set. When the group is selected (the one with "+" sign in the lower, right corner), you can then go to the "Group" tab on the right (doesn't show unless the group is selected) , and choose the scaling feature. I play in 4k so on my screen they are small. But on your screen, they are probably bigger than you would like. Dropping the scaling down will solve this.
Moving Group/Auras
To move around, you can use the Group tab again and enter values or you can just click on the icons and drag. To move individual icons, you can go to the Display tab.. but BE CAREFUL. The big icons in the center are in order. But the icons on the left, right, top, and bottom can be adjusted without too much trouble. Some are stacked to talent tier to conserve space. I try and label every aura very well so you can see which one to adjust easily. But if you do mess everything up, you can select the group on the left column, right click, choose delete group and children, then re-import and you are starting from scratch again.
Selections
A cool feature of weakaura2 is that, in the left column, once you open the group up by clicking the "+" sign in the lower right of the group, you can select the auras much like Window 10 works. For example, you can select individual auras for moving by holding down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and clicking each aura you'd like to adjust. Alternatively, you can hold down shift and it will select everything in between the two you click on. This allows you to move groups of auras that are stacked quite easily. And of course, you can also click and drag these selected groups, both on your ui and in the left hand column.
Disabling
Lastly, if you want to turn on/off certain auras, you can! Load tab has a "Never" check box. This works for the entire group or just the individual aura. Just depends on what is selected on the left column. The only one that HAS to show is the Enemies In Range as that is the one that "counts" nameplates and gives that info to other auras. But it can be moved no problem.
Hope these basics help. Cheers!
Brewmaster Monk Overview
Brewmaster is the tanking specialization of Monks, and we possess a wide array of colorful and unique abilities. Brewmasters do not overly rely on avoiding damage through dodging and parrying attacks. Instead, we have an additional way of dealing with incoming damage, completely exclusive to Brewmaster. This is called Staggering damage, which causes only a portion of damage taken to be done to the Monk instantly. The rest of the damage is done over the course of 10 seconds (with the possibility for the Monk to remove part of the non-instant damage by using Purifying Brew).
Mainly for these reasons, Brewmasters benefit from a steady and relatively easily-healed damage intake. We are also exceptional at taking large, isolated hits; perhaps the best at this of any tank. We make excellent tanks in PvE and will always be a valuable asset to your raid.
Patch 8.1 Changes for Brewmaster Monk
Tides of Vengeance brings a small nerf in Staggered damage and two new Azerite traits to play with:
The effectiveness of Stagger has been reduced by around 6%. This leads to direct physical hits doing around 10% more damage. There are no playstyle changes associated with this, you will simply require some more healing.
Niuzao's Blessing has been removed. All items with this trait will gain Straight, No Chaser. This trait causes Ironskin Brew to increase your armor and occasionally not use a charge. This trait is powerful defensively, and you will want at least one.
Exit Strategy is an interesting new Inner Ring trait. With this, Rolling or Chi Torpedoing grants a large amount of Avoidance (around 10%) for 2 seconds. During the 2 seconds, if you are hit by direct damage your Roll cooldown is reduced.
Patch 8.0.1 Changes for Brewmaster Monk
In Battle for Azeroth, Brewmaster remains very similar to its Legion incarnation, with mostly background changes.
Existing Spell Changes in 8.0.1
The amount of damage you Stagger is now based on your agility, meaning the better your gear is the less up-front damage you will take. Magic stagger has been lowered from 40% of base stagger to 35%, as part of a series of changes to make ALL tanks more vulnerable to magic damage.
Leg Sweep is now baseline for all Monk specializations.
Keg Smash has had its slow reduced from 50% to 20%. If you desire a 50% slow, consider using Special Delivery, which remains unchanged.
The shared cooldowns of Purifying Brew and Ironskin Brew have been reduced from 21 to 15 seconds. Ironskin Brew's duration has been increased from 6 to 7 seconds.
Mystic Touch has been added, causing targets Brewmasters damage to take 5% more physical damage from all sources.
Brewmaster Monk Talents in 8.0.1
Spitfire has replaced Gift of the Mists. It gives a chance to reset the cooldown of Breath of Fire when using Tiger Palm, adding some DPS.
The cooldown of Black Ox Brew has been increased from 90 to 120 seconds.
Tiger Tail Sweep modifies Leg Sweep, which is now baseline. It improves Leg Sweep by reducing the cooldown and increasing range.
Bob and Weave increases the duration of your Stagger DoT by 3 seconds, much like Jewel of the Lost Abbey. This means each stagger tick deals less damage to you.
Guard has finally returned to the PvE side of the game, replacing Elusive Dance. Its functionality has changed from being an absorb to stopping any staggered damage (up to its tooltip amount) from entering your ticking stagger pool.
Blackout Combo has changed slightly: it no longer modifies Purifying Brew and the increase in Tiger Palm damage has been lowered. This, coupled with losing the Face Palm trait, means that it will no longer be a giant DPS gain.
Brewmaster Monk Strengths
Very strong against single large hits
Highly mobile
Provides Mystic Touch along with the other monk specializations, which all raids will want.
Brewmaster Monk Weaknesses
- Less self sufficient than some other tanks.
