everytime i refresh randommotd it has the same motd multiple times in a row and then cycles to the next one. I want it to have 1 in a row and move on to a different one. How do I fix this?

Oh, and I see you are using the Lunar Client. Can you try pinging your server with the vanilla MC client? I remember someone had a problem using the Badlion (?) client.

Oh yeah I am using Lunar Client but it still works on 2b2t.
It might be that I am too close to the server becuase I have a server area in my basement and that is where its hosted.

Ok short update. I did the following:

  • Checked with paper --> all fine
  • Checked with your startup flags --> all fine
  • Checked with Java 16 --> all fine
  • Checked my implementation --> all fine

I am not sure what's going on on your side but I am pretty sure it's not a fault of ServerlistMOTD. I can't reproduce your problem. It has to do with your setup. I see the following options:

  • Maybe try the lite version of ServerlistMOTD which doesn't need ProtocolLib. Just switch out the jar. download
  • You could send me your server folder (without map). Maybe I see something suspicious.

PS: Oh, and check your TPS. That could also be a problem.

I tried to reproduce your problem with your server folder. I had no luck. Everything worked great. So I can't see this as a bug.

Hey there, can you share the following info with me:

  • ServerlistMOTD version (there was a similar bug before 2020-09-05)
  • your config.yml via pastebin

Having the same motd multiple times can happen but should not be the norm. Let me know.

add heritagecraft.net to your server list and then add 2b2t.org I want my motd to look like 2b2t but mine does it multiple times in a row.

I just tried out your config and I can't seem to reproduce your problem. Every ping, I get a different motd. Sometimes the motd reappears, but not in a row. Can you show me a video of the behavior?

Yeah, I am aware what you are trying to do. RandomMotd does this.

Super weird. To show you it's working on my end: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XQTjxr_2lkH9gqw5S_HPGDtzB6wy2taq/view?usp=sharing

What version of Java, Spigot and ProtocolLib are you using? And please recheck if you are indeed using vX-2020-09-05.

No idea, could be a thousand things. If you have access to a linux system, maybe give it a try.
