Diamethyst Arrows

Diamethyst Arrows

This is an official add-on to the Diamethysts mod. The Diamethysts mod is a required dependency and this mod will not work without it.

What is this mod about?

When the Diamethysts mod was updated to include a range of bows and arrows, a lot of extra Diamethyst Arrow upgrades were considered that were ultimately deemed too far removed from the vanilla feel of the mod. Rather than throw those ideas out, the arrows have been added into this add-on mod so you can use them if you want, or not use them at all. The choice is yours.

Features:

Diamethyst Web Arrow

This arrow is tipped with a sticky web goo that causes the arrow to slow down mobs that it hits. It also places a cobweb when it hits blocks. Once the web is placed, the arrow reverts back to a regular Diamethyst Arrow. Create a Diamethyst Infused Web Goo Brew potion by first brewing a cobweb with a thick potion, and then adding Diamethyst Dust. You can then surround the resulting potion with Diamethyst Arrows to craft the Diamethyst Web Arrows. Of course, after crafting you'll get the bottle back.

Diamethyst Weeping Arrow

This arrow is tipped with obsidian tears and causes the same nasty effects to a struck mob as drinking Bottled Obsidian Tears. If the arrow hits obsidian, there is a very small chance that it will place the tears back on the block, but this will also break the arrow. Once again, you'll get the bottle back after crafting them. Where do you get Bottled Obsidian Tears from? Try using an empty bottle on crying obsidian.

Diamethyst Wither Arrow

This arrow will generate a wither cloud when it strikes its target. It will cause any hit mob, or any mob wandering into the wither cloud, to experience a withering effect (if possible) for 5 seconds (configurable). Diamethyst Wither Arrows retain their effect when used and can be used as many times as you want - until they hit a mob of course. The arrows do additional damage to wither skeletons (configurable). You'll need a wither skull for the recipe.

Diamethyst Smoke Arrow

Charge up smoke arrows by placing Diamethyst Arrows around a campfire. Once charged with smoke, the arrows will pop off of the campfire and can then be used. The smoke arrow will send up a large column of smoke when it hits a block - useful for signaling purposes. Once the arrow sends up smoke, it will need to be recharged on a campfire. Hitting a mob causes the normal arrow damage and no smoke appears.

Diamethyst Colored Smoke Arrows

By combining Diamethyst Smoke Arrows with any dye, you can change the smoke color of the arrow. All dyes except white can be used because the base arrow smoke color is already white. Aside from the different smoke color, the colored smoke arrows behave exactly the same as the Diamethyst Smoke Arrow (see above).

Diamethyst Prismarine Arrow

This arrow can be fired underwater without penalty. It does increased damage to any mob found immersed in water.

Diamethyst Water Arrow

This arrow will spawn water at the point of impact. Once water is spawned, the arrow reverts back to a Diamethyst Arrow. Water arrows do not work in the Nether. If the arrow is unable to place its water, you can collect it and try again.

Diamethyst Lava Arrow

This arrow will spawn lava at the point of impact. Once lava is spawned, the arrow reverts back to a Diamethyst Arrow. If the arrow is unable to place its lava, you can collect it and try again.

Diamethyst Water Sponge Arrow

As its name suggests, this arrow will soak up water that it comes into contact with when it lands - much like placing a sponge block in water. When wet, the arrow becomes a Diamethyst Wet Water Sponge Arrow (see below). Wet arrows must be dried out before they can be used to soak up more water.

Diamethyst Wet Water Sponge Arrow

When a Diamethyst Water Sponge Arrow soaks up water, it becomes a Diamethyst Wet Water Sponge Arrow. This arrow flies slower and does very little damage. The arrow can be dried out by placing it in a furnace or shooting it in the Nether. Once dry, it becomes a Diamethyst Water Sponge Arrow and can be used to soak up more water.

Diamethyst Lava Sponge Arrow

As its name suggests, this arrow will soak up lava that it comes into contact with when it lands. When saturated, the arrow becomes a Diamethyst Saturated Lava Sponge Arrow (see below). Saturated arrows must be cooled down before they can be used to soak up more lava.

Diamethyst Saturated Lava Sponge Arrow

When a Diamethyst Lava Sponge Arrow soaks up lava, it becomes a Diamethyst Saturated Lava Sponge Arrow. This arrow flies slower and does very little damage. However, since the arrow is super heated, it will set struck mobs on fire (if possible). The arrow can be cooled down by firing it into a powered snow block. The heat of the arrow will melt the powdered snow. Once cool, it becomes a Diamethyst Lava Sponge Arrow and can be used to soak up more lava.
