Introducing Automation Nation, a revolutionary new modpack with an emphasis on realistic, down-to-earth tech and automation. No magic mods here, just good ol' technology! Experience the joys of automation, transportation, capitalism, and much much more!

WE'VE REACHED THE BIG FIVE OH OH OH!!!! THANKS TO ALL THE WONDERFUL ENGINEERS WHO DOWNLOADED AND ENJOYED THE PACK!!!!

Also, Automation Nation is Currently On Hiatus. I'm working on another project, one that's huge, one that's amazing, one that's...just a little bit crazy.

A lot of tech modpacks I have encountered often make some...design missteps when it comes to how the early and late game plays out. Let me tell you, we have little to NONE of that here! In this modpack, you will NOT have to:

  • Go through a million steps before being able to get wood and play the game normally. Trees are meant to be punched, people!
  • Reach level 5 billion of some arbitrary skill before you're able to use an iron pickaxe
  • Start out in the stone age, bashing mobs with a club and smashing things together in a stump. Mods like this really shake me to my Core...
  • Be bottlenecked into visiting a huge, crazy forest dimension in order to obtain a magical set of doodads for the purposes of making a vital item for gated progression. I'm not a fan of being For-est into doing this storta stuff!
  • Experience gigantic, almost repetitive villages spawning on top of you without warning, which ends up suffocating you (or at the very least, makes your computer lag out like crazy!) I want to make a railway empire around the world to become a Millionare, but these villages keep throwing a wrench in my plans!
  • Manually grind and grind and grind and grind and grind and grind and grind and grind and grind and grind for for a non-automatable resource that which the Applications for Storage are very useful
  • Deal with 17 quintillion versions of the same metal which are simultaneously ore-dicted and conflicting with each other's recipes.
  • Perform oodoo voodo magic shaman rituals to craft certain tech items. Look buddy, I'm an engineer, not a witch doctor!

That's right, folks, this modpack has NONE OF THAT hot garbage! a distinct lack of those very beloved, yet still somewhat annoying, features. Instead, we got:

  • A very carefully selected list of mods designed for maximum fun and minimum overlap!
  • Special crafting recipes designed to let players of all difficulties automate Blaze Rods, Ender Pearls, and more!
  • Large, mechanical crafting recipes designed to make high-power tech that much more worth it!
  • Automated-late-game-biome-specific-industrial-foregoing-powered-super-mega-dynamic ore extraction! (I.E. Biome-Specific ore extraction with the IF Laser Drill)!
  • A biome-specific crop growth mechanic designed to encourage the use of Trains to transport resources between far-flung farms!
  • A set of useful utility mods designed to help you load chunks, mine ore veins, get perks for eating diversely, and more!
  • A detailed questbook written to help you navigate through the wild world of automation. Plus, it's got tons of funny quest names and subtitles, A la Sevtech and Skyfactory!
  • A highly advanced, computer-powered storage system allowing you to cram thousands of blocks onto a single disk!
  • Conveyors, cars, trains, machines, gears, levers, exploration, capitalism, and a WHOLE LOT MORE!!!

A High-Quality Selection of Mods!

Automation Nation contains a stack (that's 64 for those of you keeping score at home) of the best tech and utility mods around! The pack revolves around three main tech mods: Create, Immersive Engineering, and Industrial Foregoing. Certain aspects of these mods have been tweaked to make sure no machine is too overpowered, as well as making powerful tech a rewarding thing to pursue! Additionally, I've got some top-notch secondary and utility mods in here to spice up your experience, make things easier, and allow for things like full-scale automation no matter where you are!

Modlist:

Main Mods:

Secondary Mods:

  • Calemi's Utilities (Adds an intuitive currency and market system)
  • Chunk Loaders (Widgets to keep farms and production lines running, even when you're out exploring)

Behind-the-Scenes Mods:

Automate Your World!

Start out with relatively low-level processes with Create, such as ore doubling via milling and washing, fuel-free smelting, and rotary farms. Then, discover revolutionary technologies such as fluid pipes, mechanical arms, wireless redstone, automatic crafting, and even contraptions that can be attached to minecarts!!

While you're doing that, dive into the world of steel with Immersive Engineering. Use special multiblock ovens to smelt iron into Steel, then use this new metal to craft generators capable of harnessing the wind and heat. Experience automated ore extraction and processing with the giant multiblock excavator, pumpjack, crusher, and more!

Once you've got a hefty steel stockpile, why not invest in high-tech machines with Industrial Foregoing? Grab your Mechanical Crafters and start making plastic, because these one-block machines are packed with technology! Automatically fish, fertilize, ranch, and extract ores with these sleek, compact machines that are hot-ticket late-game items!

Explore, Extract, and Expand!

One of the main draws of this modpack is a reason to use long-distance forms of transportation like Trains and cars. That's why Automation Nation has several biome-specific mechanics designed to encourage the setting up of rail infrastructure! For one, crops can now only grow in specific biomes! This means that trees can only be grown in their native biome, nether warts can only be grown in the Nether, cacti can only be grown in the desert, and more! Secondly, I've introduced a Biome-Specific ore extraction mechanic through the use of Industrial Foregoing's Laser Drill! While regular ore blocks spawn naturally in every biome, the Laser Drill can only extract specific ores depending on the biome. It's also fairly imprecise, so you'll need to use Laser Lenses to increase the accuracy, resulting in a greater ore chance! Use the simple and intuitive Chunk Loaders to keep these farms and drills running, even when you're all the way back at home base!

Advanced Train-sportation!

Choose from a wide variety of rail-based transportation methods, including regular minecarts, huge detailed steam and diesel engines, and custom-built minecart-driven contraptions! Make tracks between your mining outposts, auto-farms, factories, friends' bases, shops, and more! Produce rails and train components using huge metal shaping machines, and ride the rails in style! If trains aren't quite your thing, why not try cars? Melt down Blaze Rods and Ender Pearls to create Fuelium, a mysterious liquid capable of energizing both electric and combustion engines. Wheels are the future, so strap in, hit the gas, and hang on tight!

Economies of Scale!

Another thing I've yet to see in a tech modpack is a reason to keep expanding, to keep biggering your factories, companies, and corporate signs. Well, all of that is about to change with the introduction of Calemi's Utilities! I've chosen this mod specifically because of its unique economy system, fit for both Singleplayer and Multiplayer worlds alike! Produce delectable food dishes and sell them to a global admin market for coins, and use those coins to purchase useful blocks, items, and other fun exclusive bits and bobs! Or, if you've got some friends, why not part ways on world creation and see which self-run corporation can make the most moolah? Collaborate or compete for profits, the choice is yours!

A Crash Course in Engineering!

Are you a beginner to tech mods? Maybe you're an expert with Create, but have never used Immersive Engineering before? Or perhaps you're a veteran looking for something new? Whatever the case is, the Quest-Driven content system has got you covered! Start out by learning the basic mechanics of the three core mods in this pack, and discover how to use their machines to double your ores, generate electricity, and automate your world! Once you've done that, take on the Quest Clusters: short questlines designed to teach you more mechanics and machines of certain mods. Featuring a ton of witty quest names, subtitles, and descriptions, this questbook is one that you won't be able to put down! *Note: Questbook is a work in progress. Quests are subject to change, including being added, removed, shuffled around, or otherwise altered. Certain features may not be available due to the limitations of the questing mod (FTB Quests.) This is still a Beta, so anything could happen!

What's New? Automation Nation is currently on Version 1.5.0! Here's some of the things changed since the last update:

Sink the Unsinkable!

Introducing a brand new custom made block, the Enhanced Production Intelligent Computerized Sink, or E.P.I.C Sink for short! This computerized chomper will gladly accept any unwanted byproducts of your production lines, allowing you to effectively balance your factories without letting anything go to waste! As an added bonus, each item fed into the sink will help you get EPIC Coupons, which can be converted into Dollar Coins for use in the shop! (Note: We are not associated or affiliated with FICSIT Inc. in any way. Any resemblance to the so-called "AWESOME Sink" is completely coincidental.)

Challenge Yourself!
That's right, there's new quest challenges coming to Automation Nation! Test your production skills with the all-new Automation Challenges, where you'll have to submit thousands, even millions of cobblestone, wood, diamonds, and more! I've got a few lined up for this current update, but Stay Tuned for even more Automation Goodness in the future!

The return of an Old Friend!

Hey, remember when the Create Mod decommissioned the Integrated Circuit and Lapis Sheet items? Yeah, I sure do. Well, I'm happy to say that thanks to a little bit of MCreator magic, they're back and ready to serve their rightful place as useful crafting ingredients in a multitude of machinery!

Late-Stage-Early-Game Create-imation!

Thanks to a new mod called Create Automation, you'll soon be able to automatically (and infinitely) extract ore bits from special resource nodules found across the world. It's nowhere near as efficient as the IE Excavator or the IF Laser Drill, but it's perfect for getting some late-early-game production lines going! Additionally, you'll be able to wash and smelt with ease using the new lava and water soaked Sponge Sails! No more messy liquids!

Up-to-date Mods!
Pretty self-explanatory, but nearly every single mod in Automation Nation has received an update since the last version of this modpack. As such, these updates have been applied, and you can now enjoy their benefits!!!

And MUCH, MUCH MORE!!!

So what are you waiting for? Try Automation Nation today for a fun and relaxing automation experience for beginners and veterans alike!

If something isn't working, please by all means scream, cry, and complain about it in the comments! I'll try my best to help you, as well as make the experience better for everyone else! Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease!

All mods listed belong to their respective owners. Please go show them some love by checking out their other projects!!!

Got a cool factory, train line, farm, production line, or anything else you built using this pack? I'd love to see it! Plus, if I believe it to represent what you can do in Automation Nation, I might include it in the Screenshots section of this Curseforge page! (You'd be credited, of course).

(Note: any shade thrown at any mod/modpack in this funny description is meant purely as a joke.)
