Covenant. Modpack 1.12.2

Medieval themed Modpack centered around Ancient Warfare 2 and Ice and Fire

Ice and Fire is a great and highly polished mod which adds a variety of new and original mobs which all have their own weaknesses, loot and I cannot recommend this mod enough. It doesn't interfere with vanilla Minecraft if configured correctly, the same applies to Ancient warfare 2. I personally don't like a lot of the things in that mod. from the way certain structures, blocks and items look to some mechanics in dealing with NPC's. The overall feeling I got when first playing it was less like I had my own citizens and kingdoms and more like I was managing a mod to work the best so I started digging around in the config files and changed a range of options including adding over 100 skins to the NPC's (which I plan to increase to 250 ), Disabling the generation of Ancient Warfare 2's structures as the look quite poor in comparision to the rest of the world and didn't add anything vital to it and I changed some minor things which you probably won't even notice. It was not inspired by RLcraft at all (I started making this 3 years ago) however I can admit there are similarities. The main differences I would say are that you won't be forced into changing you're play style from vanilla minecraft all that much as well as this being much more lightweight. it doesn't have a /shop or /home command but makes use of Waystones which offers incentives for building, exploring, travel and trading with other players however the woods are treacherous so be prepared. Personally all mods here are pretty surface level and don't need much "getting used to" in order to understand what is going on except for Ancient Warfare 2, I recommend watching some tutorials. It's not too hard once you figure out the basics.

The aim of this Modpack is to make it feel more like a medieval world but still keeping true to Minecraft and not going to far over the curve and make it as lightweight as possible for those with less than optimal PC's.

This Modpack was created for a (offline-mode) server called Covenant, if you're interested in the in the general idea of the Modpack, you might be interested in the server too. In which case you can contact us on discord and we will give you some specifics and answer any questions you may have. https://discord.gg/47eeYnp

There are three mods you can uninstall based on your personal preference and hardware. Recurring Complex adds high quality random structures, Chunk generator generates your terrain so you won't have lag while playing. Both can be uninstalled after the pre-generation of your world is done. Better foliage is a clientside only mod and players can uninstall it if the performance hit for them is too large.

The Resourcepack i am making to go alongside it:

Step-By-Step Installation for this modpack (And most modpacks in general)

-1. Install Java 64-bits. ( https://javadl.oracle.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=241536_1f5b5a70bf22433b84d0e960903adac8 )

-2. Install Forge 1.12.2-14.23.5.2768. ( https://adfoc.us/serve/sitelinks/?id=271228&url=https://files.minecraftforge.net/maven/net/minecraftforge/forge/1.12.2-14.23.5.2768/forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2768-installer-win.exe )

-3. copy the Modpack FIles into your ".minecraft" folder.

-4. allocate more RAM to Minecraft (preferably 4GB or more, but 2-3GB will do just fine.)

-5. Press Play and Pray.

Important:

-Requires Forge 1.12.2-14.23.5.2768.

-Decobench includes a lot of non-medieval items etc, we have decided it added too much for us to exclude it from the modpack, so our solution is to ignore said items however even though editing Decobench has proven quite a challenge we are hoping to release an edited version here in the future.

-Chunk Pre-generator isn't on a friendly basis with RecurringComplex, this can be helped by lowering the generation rate of both mods (and restarting the server a bunch of times.)

-I've included a .txt file with instructions for servers on some minor issues and simple solutions to solve them.
