Mirror-like Reflections

The setting "spectacular reflections for water makes it look like a mirror when close up, while glass and nether portals also become mirror like, and not translucent. Is there any inbetween? It's looked fine for me in the past, but for some reason this version looks like this. I'm using DH and on 1.21.4. This bug is on servers, and single player.

Untitled.video.-.Made.with.Clipchamp.3.mp4

If i turn this setting off water looks flat, even with sun and moon reflections on, due to file size limits i couldn't fully show how it looks but it can be seen in the background at the start.

Glad I could track this down as an issue and not something I messed up on my end haha. It reminds me a lot like the entrance to Hazy Maze Cave from Super Mario 64. I thought it was neat at first, but after a few hours it does get slightly annoying. It affects some glass pains too and after looking at the DH server; it looks like it happens both on a pre-chunk and a distance basis.

if i recall correctly, this is an issue between sodium and distant horizons. updating sodium to v0.6.5+ may fix it.
would be really nice to have confirmation, though.

This did not work, im now running sodium version "mc1.21.4-0.6.5-fabric"
although it does seem to reduce the distance of the water becoming a mirror, and ill mention, the chunks that are still mirrors at a distance are always like that no matter how far away i go.

edit: I'm running DH fabric-2.3.0-b-dev-1.21.4.jar

hm ive looked deeper into this issue, its pretty widespread, happens regardless of what shader is used. according to the distant horizons developer, its not a shader or distant horizons issue, but rather something with sodium and iris. i don't see an available real solution yet. updating doesn't solve it, but using slightly older versions of iris + sodium avoids it.

Okay, thank you so much!

Hey, I'm sorry to come back to this so late, what versions should I be going to? I tried all the compatible versions I tried on Modrinth didn't seem to fix the issue, do you have the exact versions so I can get them off of the website, and just hope that it launches.

im not entirely sure either. looking at helpme/bug report threads on distant horizons discord, they're telling people to just "downgrade sodium and/or iris", not really giving any specific versions.

between the iris, sodium, and distant horizons developers, they still have not figured out the problem yet, as far as i can tell.
