This is a resource pack of premade packages to import poses to specific traits so that when you click them in create a sim, your horse will change to that pose.
Even a brand new 'never made a mod' beginner can use these!
Directions:
Install TS4 Studio if you don't have it. [Linked most recent version as of writing on 4/1/2024. Anything that supports horses will work.]
Install blender 3.6 if you don't have it. (Required to export poses even if you're not making them yourself. Even if you never open blender, studio needs to access blender to make your file export.) - Blender 4.1+ (so far) will also work, however.
After you have installed studio, double click any of the .package files you downloaded here. They are named after the trait whose animation they replace. It should open automatically with studio, if it doesn't, click 'open with' and select studio. If that doesn't work, open studio, click My 'My Projects' on the right, and select a template package you downloaded here.
You should see this screen:
(If you don't, you may be on the "Warehouse" tab. Just click the "Studio" tab.)
Click "Import" and select your .blend file. [To acquire a .blend file, open a pose pack with TS4 Studio, go to clips, select the one you want, change the dropdown menu to 'horse' and click export. This is the file you want to import to the template! The name doesn't matter.]
After opening a pose pack in TS4 Studio, this is what I mean:
After the wheel stops spinning, you can check that your clip imported by clicking 'Warehouse' and selecting 'Clip header.' You will see the name of your .blend for Source Asset Name. Now just change the duration (number of seconds you want the clip to play, I recommend 5) for clip header AND clip. Save, and you're done! That's it.
Save your package to mods folder and now your trait will play the pose you wanted in game. :) Great for making RP horse sales adds on discord servers, conformation pics with the CAS background you want for horse registration certs, and for making photographs to upload to custom portrait CC's in game. (Or to let your sim paint your horse if you're a modder who can import your screenshot to the list of images a sim can paint.)
