Tooltip shows the current skill level + skill bonus when hovering over nodes.
"Way of the" cooking skills show after opening up the Cooking skill window the first time.

Profession skills that are "ready" to be trained show in green, while capped skills (ones that skillups can not be gained, due to being capped) show in yellow.
Also note that bonus skill (in this case +10 from having a mining pick in inventory...

When you gain a skillup in a profession, it will "tick" red and fade to white.
