Aspire to Victory and Dominance:

Ever daydreamed about playing modded PVP? Got the Holy Hand Grenades from reliquary and bemoaned that your server will only allow you to unleash them on witless zombies? Ultra Battlegrounds is here, to provide you the killing fields you need to rise to power and dominate your competition.

This pack is designed to be played on one-time-use throwaway worlds. Cut loose, don't worry about thrashing your enemies' hard work, that's the whole idea! Meet your foes on the field of honor. Stalk them from the shadows and strike when they're at their weakest. Whether through might or wit or wealth or luck, crush those who oppose you.

Quickly and Simply start games of UHC PVP, with minimal specialized knowledge:

Usually starting up a UHC match involves a bunch of fussing with commands and setting up teams and fiddly nonsense. Not so with Ultra Battlegrounds! With a suite of items that automatically execute commands when used, if you can spin up a server and use JEI cheats to find items, you can have a UHC match going in minutes! Just provide your own victims friends!

Multiple Modes Of Play built right into the Pack:

Tired of just mindlessly murdering one another in a bloody free for all? Ultra Battlegrounds comes pre packaged with 3 game modes, toggled by simply using some items!

  • Combat Mode: Bare bones, no baloney. Last person standing wins.
  • Doomsday CTM: Individuals or teams race to complete the construction of the "Doomsday Victory Monument", an ominous multiblock machine that when fed a recipe of 4 rare monster drops, will produce the "Ultimate Destruction Rod", with which the succeeding team can smite their foes, winning the match.
  • 4 team CTM: The spawn fortress metamorphs to include 4 multiblock machines that when fed a complex recipe of 15 items, will dispense a Destruction Rod attuned to the team that built it, with which they can bestow sorrow and destruction to the fools who opposed them! Race to collect the components! Keep your enemies away from their machine! Steal their items in honorable combat and use them to secure victory!
  • Your imagination is the limit: Race to kill the dragon. Be the first team to collect a stack of diamond blocks. Play king of the hill at the spawn fortress. If you and your pals can agree on it, you can play it.

Toggle Rules At Will.

Like free-for-all PVP but don't like having natural regeneration turned off? Turn it back on! Ban or Unban regeneration potions! Play in a static worldborder. Play in a shrinking worldborder. Play with no worldborder. Turn friendly fire off or on. Make enemy-team nametags invisible or visible. A myriad of options able to be combined in various ways helps to keep the experience fresh, or tailor the experience to the needs of you and your play-group.

A World of Adventure and Danger.

A list of mods carefully selected to provide a myriad of combat options, a danger fraught world to quest through on your rise to power, and an array of fearsome monsters to sort the strong from the weak. Dungeons are scattered across a broken land whose skyline is broken by the occasional abandoned city, monuments to a civilization long past. Defiled blight scars the land, an oozing corruption that twists its inhabitants. Mighty weapons and magical artifacts can be crafted to bring you strength in battle. Horrors that scarcely bear mentioning lurk in the darkness of night and the depths of the earth, waiting to feast on the unwary.

Minecraft As Roguelike.

Antisocial? Or just not up to organizing a big event? This pack can serve as a diversion. Roll up a world, fire the starting horn, and see how far you can make it. Plunder the dungeons, conquer the bosses, mine all the things. Solo UHC dragon speedrun? Complete all the quests? Even if you are planning on playing with others, practicing up before the big game can't hurt, right?

Moderate To Light Weight.

The pack runs fine on the client with approximately 2.5 gigabytes of RAM allocated in the twitch launcher, resulting in a RAM usage of about 3.2 gigs after overhead.

News!

Recently I've released two packs related to this one:
The sequel, with a more "high tech post apocalypse" theming: Ultra Battlegrounds II: Industrial Clash
And another that is a "stripped down to almost vanilla" version intended to be used as a template for customizing your experience: Ultra Battlegrounds: Light Edition
