updated to the latest version (Iceberg-1.19.4-forge-1.1.10.jar) and was presented with the exit code 1 when mc starts to boot up. not sure if a bit of code got overlooked or a mod incompatibility.

The latest version of Iceberg requires at least Forge 45.0.64.

well I would update it to that but I can currently only get it up to 45.0.63. any version of forge higher than that gives me an exit code 1 that is very much unspecific both in the normal logs and the debug one.
